Goten of Japan-Sunderland, MA

I love eating at the Goten with friends and family, the food is excellent and cooked right in front of you. The only negative is since each table sits 12 if you come as a couple or with a small group your often sitting with complete strangers in very very close proximity and it can get uncomfortable if they are not friendly. There is a variety of food options from shrimp, scallops, steak, and chicken and you can mix and match to find what your looking for. The chef will even separately make your pasta that is typically cooked with vegetables on the side without if your prefer as I do.

Anyone visiting UMASS, Amherst College, Hampshire, or any of the other local college's I would highly recommend it for a dinner. It's best to call ahead and get a reservation because it gets very busy on weekends. They have a newly added sushi bar which is very nice looking although I don't like seafood so I can't comment on that part. I have heard it is very good and there is a large selection also. If your interested in hosting a large party they have a separate room available that can seat maybe 50 people.
