South Deerfield Post Office

South Deerfield Post Office on Google Maps

This is an absolutely fantastic post office, by far the best I have been to in the area. The building is pretty new and looks great, it's kept very clean and there is more then enough room throughout for the po boxes and the dual counters to help customers. There is also an island to allow people to make adjustments or finish packing before they get into line or while they wait. The staff is great as well, they are all very helpful and pleasant and 99% of the time they have answers to any questions i've asked in regards to best/cheapest way to ship something to place X safely. Everything moves quickly and even when there has been a 5 or 6 person line(3 on each side) it's typically taken about 5 minutes or less to get up to the front which I think is more then adequate compared to others I have visited elsewhere. Prices are ridiculous for most of the supplies that you can purchase but as far as I know those prices are set for them, and even if they are not I doubt the employees are getting a cut of bubble wrap sales. Even the regular mailman I have is great, always makes sure to put bags over my packages if its raining and asks every once in a while to make sure nothing is late. I thought it was very very impressive when he helped me track down a package that got misplaced at another post office on the way to my house in Texas. That's going above and beyond.

http://www.sendacallfromsanta.com/

I first noticed this being mentioned in a few posts in my google + stream but didn't pay much attention. I ended up reading an article about it on TheNextWeb.com http://tnw.to/1CK7a . I ended up reading the first part of it and then just clicking on the link so I could send one to my girlfriend because I wanted to play a little joke. The really neat part is that you get to type in what phone number to call it from(i.e. you enter whatever number you want to show up on the persons caller id)That's the fun part, then you answer all these little questions and they create the call using the details you choose in your answers....at the end you can choose to place the call or send a video instead to an email.(The video was a feature that google added later, very creative I think.)

I really like the idea of this and applaud google for their creation. The only thing that I didn't like but probably was a preemptive move by google for people making prank calls to strangers is the restriction of calls beyond a certain time. I believe it was 8pm central. I know that I was unable to do it as of 9pm in the Eastern Time Zone. I think it's a good idea to limit calling hours because obviously it's def going to be abused by some kids i'd assume, or put a limit per day on calls per IP address to 2 or 3 maybe. No one needs to be sending anymore then that, even if they had 5 kids they'd be able to do 3 first day and 2 next.

Overall, great idea and I think it's been well received throughout, at least I haven't heard of anyone complaining. And if it turns out that there is a large number of complaints due to prank calls google posting warning that they will be turning over the names of fraudulent users.

Summary: Below I put the link to the "FakeGirlfriend" website which leads you to the explanation and instructions on "how it works" Bascially it's a service that pretends to be your significant other when you want/need to have a girlfriend. Text the number provided and your "girlfriend" will respond with a random text message. Message will be "girlfriend-esque" so you can show friends/family/x-girlfriend that's real or whoever you want that you have a new "girlfriend"

My Take: I find this to be extremely creative and funny. What makes it even more hilarious is that there are a number of guys out there who would most definitely use this if they were aware of its existance. While i'm sure it was originally created by Built by Ricky Robinett | Powered with Twilio.CO | Hat Tip to HannahDiscouraging DougTWiST as a somewhat joke there are men out there who want to make their ex-girlfriend jealous, prove to their parents they are dating again after divorce, prove to their parents they have a serious girlfriend, show their friends their girlfriend is real, ect ect. Ricky Robinetti has a link on this site to go to his "other" app which costs a fee that you can click on to "support" the making so if your really using this out there guys, show RICKY ROBINETTI some love and donate a few bucks, getting your loved ones off your back is worth it or you wouldn't be actually dialing a fake girlfriend up would you???

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?

PATHETIC?
CLEVER?
FUNNY?
STUPID?
NECESSARY?
